It's amazing how starting a challenge such as this one increases your awareness. As a CYT, I've always thought of myself as a more "environmentally friendly" person. However, this month has definitely has made me realize just how much more I can do as an individual to help.And it takes 28 days to form a habit. Hopefully some good...

I’ve been really surprised at the negative feedback that I have gotten from some folks. I have been sharing a fundraiser and trying to promote plastic awareness and I’ve even been made fun of.  I have been able to get some of my family to start reducing their footprint, but it astounds me that some think of this as a joke. 

Last day of the challenge, but I am going to try to keep going with my challenges, and maybe start some others! 🤗

I really feel like this quote sums up the challenge.  We might not feel like we did a lot as an individual, but looking at our impact really just shows how much we can do together!  Let's keep going!  

Just spent a couple hours on the beach picking up trash. The biggest offenders? Straws, plastic shreds, and cigarettes. I found over 100 cigarettes alone! 

I made a bunch of zero waste meals and I'm really proud of myself! 

I have learned so much throughout this entire challenge, and changed my habits too!  I am definitely going to continue the challenges that I picked throughout the rest of the year, and I hope everyone else chooses too as well!  It has been a really great experience!

This has been a great challenge and I've learned so much. Focusing on my own use of plastic has been enlightening. I'm planning to buy produce bags for my adult children next, and act on what I've learned going forward.
