Autumn Lindey 7/12/2018 4:33 PMHas anyone tried the shampoo bars? Do they work? Bonus points if you have thick and/or curly hair!-
Katy Harringer 7/16/2018 10:16 AMI’ve heard good things about them but do not know if those people who said good things had thick curly hair.

Sherry Samuels 7/12/2018 9:19 AMIt's been great keeping reusable containers in my car with my reusable grocery bags. I know have the containers with me whenever I go out to eat and want to bring leftovers home. A server at one restaurant let me know that they had containers for me to use if I didn't want to use my own. -
Carrie Fletcher 7/12/2018 6:04 AMI need to be more diligent on busy days to remember not to use plastic disposable items. -
Lauren Hacker 7/10/2018 8:51 AMStarted my own challenge to eliminate k-cup waste by switching to re-usable coffee pods! -
Lauren Hacker 7/09/2018 12:26 PMChallenges are going great! My compost pile is getting bigger and better. It's satisfying to see food scraps and paper towels used NOT go to waste. -
Terry Billie 7/09/2018 8:37 AMmade dinner last night with chickpea pasta, fresh tomatoes, olive oil, peas, olives , herbs and red wine. No plastic containers contained any of the ingredients in this meal. -
Terry Billie 7/09/2018 8:34 AMWent food shopping yesterday and bought produce - used cloth produce bags to collect tomatoes, cukes, avocados, herbs, and other veggies rather than using the plastic bags offered. Will make a salad today with those veggies which were not encased in plastic by me or the store. -
Terry Billie 7/09/2018 8:32 AMI learned about composting pet waste. I already compost food scraps using CompostNow but they do not collect any feces of any kind. I already use compostable litter (walnut shells) and use compostable litter bags but they still need to go in the regular trash as my composter will not accept them for their industrial compost machines. -

Bobbi Jo Holmes 7/04/2018 12:18 PMSo I said I would spend 15 minutes learning about composting pet waste. I spent probably more than that reading different articles about why it should and shouldn't be done. In conclusion, I will not be composting my kitty litter because A. my compost pile is in the chicken yard, B. with 3 cats, poop stinks, and C. I don't want to risk the chances of getting anyone sick from contaminated compost! However, I am going to use compostable bags to put the pet waste in, greatly reducing the amount of plastic bags used!-
Lauren Hacker 7/09/2018 12:39 PMHey Bobbi, I'm glad you posted this because I had also considered composting pet waste. However, we don't have a huge yard to move our compost far away enough to accommodate for the smell. We have 5 animals, 4 of them being cats. I understand that parasites can be transmitted if an animal is hosting a parasite (like roundworms) that can contaminate the soil and be passed on to humans, or so I've heard. Where can I find eco-friendly bags to dispose of pet waste?
I saw your comment on a previous post I had made about starting a compost. I'd love know more! I was never aware that you needed to have a certain mix of things to make the best compost pile.
