    This challenge has been such a great experience! I am realizing truly how much plastic is used everyday and some ways to minimize plastic use.

    Nothing screams "Plastic Free July FAIL" more than taking the leader of "plastic free Gulf Coast" to a restaurant that only serves plastics. :( Shame.

    Had a great discussion and lunch in Biloxi with Elizabeth from the group Plastic Free Gulf Coast.  This is a Mississippi Grass Roots Project that we need to turn into a total Gulf of Mexico Project.  To all my friends on the Gulf, contact me if you want to join us in making a Big Splash in the Gulf of Mexico.  Cheers Ric

    I have purchased cups with built in straws for the family :) No More Straws!

    I do my best to Skip the Straw everyday ! But it is very difficult when eating out, and restaurants bring you a drink with a straw already in it! This happens a lot on the Gulf Coast and we need to start pushing businesses to give straws upon request!

    I have been using reusable containers to pack lunches.
