Sue Connell 7/31/2018 9:40 PMI learned that going plastic free is very hard but cutting back is doable and I have acquired many new skills to accomplish that. Thanks to all!!! -
Jedidiah Cheng 7/31/2018 2:41 PMIt's the last day! I feel like I have learned so much about what I can do as a person in my daily life to make the world a little more waste-free. I will definitely be continuing many of these habits in the near future. -
Madeleine Kopf-Patterson 7/31/2018 11:46 AMYAY TEAM! It's the last day of the challenge and everyone has done so much!! I hadn't even noticed just how much plastic I use in my everyday life so I am so glad I did this challenge. It has been so cool seeing everyone's suggestions and comments too -
Carol Laurier 7/31/2018 8:53 AMA BIG “Thank You” to the volunteer who pointed out where the glasses were in the kitchen at the operations meeting last night, so I wouldn’t have to use a paper cup!
I should’ve asked your name. -

Emily Felty 7/30/2018 10:54 AMWe got Jack in the Box today in a moment of heat induced weakness. I was so happy when my husband said to the cashier three times "No lid, no straw!" Baby steps :)-

Emily Felty 7/30/2018 10:51 AMFirst day of house hunting and packed my own plastic free snacks for the trip! -
Carol Laurier 7/30/2018 10:14 AMWe did our shopping yesterday, found a butcher and used our silicon pouches. Put our collection of plastic bags from the past few weeks in the recycle bin at Fred Meyer (Ballard Market has one, also). And haven’t used plastic garbage bags for our kitchen garbage in a few weeks.
Going forward I am going to try to buy all vegetables “sans” plastic.
However, I am still looking for a butcher that carries local, free range meat so I can stop buying st the Sunday Market. (While I LOVE the Market on Sunday morning, practically everything I like to get there is, and might have to be, is prepackaged).
There are always choices to be made, but I’ve learned so much this month from all the posts and links made by our teammates.
ROCK ON! -
Sue Connell 7/30/2018 5:56 AMTook a salad to a potluck--covered with my beeswax wrap. Salad contained non-plastic wrapped blueberries and raspberries that a friend of mine grew on Vashon Island. So good!!!
