I learned to be more conscious of the products I use and how they are packaged.

This challenge really opened my eyes to how many products are packaged in single-use plastic. I try to stop and think before I purchase now and about what different choices I can make, even if it means buying a product that may cost a little bit more but is packaged more eco-friendly.

I went to a sleepaway summer camp last week, where the dishes and silverware are all Styrofoam and plastic. I brought my own water bottle, silverware, and dishes, and I was really proud of how much waste I prevented from going into the trash. I did, though, lead a science class, where we did Diet Coke and Mentos, Ziploc bubble bombs, and water balloons, so plastic was pretty necessary there.

I would like to conclude this chapter of Plastic Free July with a quote,"Throw a stone into the stream and the ripples that propagate themselves are the beautiful type of all influence." Ralph Waldo Emerson

This was a fun way to increase awareness and begin earth friendly habits.

I am very proud of my team and all of the plastic we've prevented from going into the oceans by adopting sustainable habits. We are making people more aware by being proactive in combating plastic pollution and by making conscientious  decisions about which products we purchase. Thank you to everyone who made this possible and all of those who participated because humanity is stubborn and someone has to step up to the plate, no matter how inconvenient it may seem, now.

I have bee traveling and visiting family and it is hard to keep on track at other people’s houses sometimes! Working hard to bring change (even little ones) where ever I go.

One time, my little sister tried to borrow my Def Leppard record. I said, "No, waaaay. It's made of polyvinyl chloride." I let her use my streaming account instead. #plasticfreehairmetal
