Amy Komarek 8/02/2018 9:37 AMThanks for the challenge! It was a nice daily reminder to check my plastic use =) -
Ken Fay 7/31/2018 11:35 PMDarn. Seems like out here in Alaska we got locked out of the last day. at 1030 AST though it just may be me.
What I learned from the challenge is that there is a tremendous, if not humongous amount of work to do to rid us of the plastic menace, but every journey starts with a step (or some similar cliche).
It was a fun way to raise awareness and hopefully start to change the collective attitude towards plastic. But let's not kid ourselves there are mountains to climb. -
Lindsey Roberts 7/31/2018 7:58 PMCan’t believe July is over! Thanks for the plastics free July awareness! Things will never be the same! -
Savannah Costner 7/31/2018 7:11 PMJust walked around the gallery and easily the most viewed exhibit was our Plastic Jellies exhibit; 15 people huddled around watching the plastic swirl around the tank. Even though we were the ones completing the challenges I definitely think we helped others want to reduce their plastic consumption! Good job team!-
Sarah Smith 7/31/2018 7:35 PMPost pics, please! This sounds amazing!

Misty Chance 7/31/2018 3:02 PMIt's July 31st, the last day of Plastic Free July Challenge so proud of the Alaska SeaLife Center, of the 78 Zoos and Aquariums participating in the challenge we're the smallest organization in the top 20 and we've been steadily holding the 15th place spot for a while. It'll be exciting to see where we finish! -
Lynn Nappi 7/31/2018 2:42 PMWatched the documentary "Bag It" with my kids last night and highly recommend it, very well done and informative! And kept the attention of a 9 & 12 year old. At first they balked at the idea but after sitting and watching a few minutes became really interested and wanted to continue to watch it! Learned a lot from it as it covered other sources of plastic as well! Well worth the watch! -
Jamie Auletta 7/31/2018 2:39 PMThank you to everyone for participating! You are all amazing and inspiring people to work you. And double thank you to those who came by to watch the documentary today! -
Teri Arnold 7/31/2018 2:15 PMGreat Ted Talk movie today - thanks to Jamie and Melissa for coordinating this effort. I'm ready to go home and clean out - some more! And ice cream was good too. :)
