      Great ideas!
I bring a bag or two of stuff to be recycled every time I go to my local outlet mall to drop off at  H&M. They take ANY household textiles, old curtains and the like as well as clothes (plus you get a coupon for 15% off your next purchase!). Our local Goodwill also accepts fabric for recycling.

Here are some plastic free liquid hygiene products (shampoo, body wash, etc.)
    They're kind of pricey. $30 for 1. $55 for 2. $80 for 3. $99 for 4
They refill it for you too, but I'm pretty sure it's the same price as buying a new one.
If you can't afford it, that's okay. You don't have to be rich to help the environment. Just check out other DIY plastic-free products!

Hey, you guys! I know #stopsucking has been a popular trend recently and while it's important for consumers to limit their plastic use through straws and the like, we need to acknowledge what's truly at fault.

Straws only make up .03% of the ocean's pollution. Though this is still 2,400 metric tons a year, the large contributor is fishing nets. 46% of plastic comes from "ghost gear" aka fishing equipment abandoned in the ocean. These can create entanglements and lead to fish's deaths. Developed countries have put in place a tracking system to ensure that the owner of ghost gear is held accountable, but this isn't as viable in developing countries unless there's pay.

Doing what we can is important, but we have to know that doing it quietly won't create the change we need. #stopsucking and get big business to reduce their plastic too. Keep that plastic-free energy and send it out to the world.

Here's some great articles to check out. They talk about how the problem isn't straws, but it's still important to start with straw bans. If you only have time for one, check out Vox. It's very informative and broken into sections that you can skim through.

If you're like me, I love loose leaf tea for both the taste and lack of waste that accompanies it. However, I've been really lax about getting an infuser. Fortunately, I found this one mug that features both an infuser and a lid. It's $10-$15 on Amazon, but I know it's something I'll be using a lot. The infuser is pretty large so you could surely use it in a pot or the like.

    Here's the link.

See about joining an eco or enviro club, if they don't have one, you can work on creating one!

I went to UVA orientation this weekend and the dining hall was riddled with sustainability booths. I got to learn more about the University's green habits and even get a few stickers for my reusable water bottle!
