As a person who has been sarcastically called Zero Impact Man in the past, I have been involved in plastic reduction and reuse and recycling for decades now. Still, I was surprised how much I learned during this experience and how profound was the impact of the month. Thanks for making this happen. Next year, I'd love us to be able to open it...

Boy, I'm thankful for this challenge. I've learned a lot and hope you all have too. Even more importantly, I hope that it has led to changes in your behavior to try to reduce your plastic consumption, as it has for me! Go Team TLD!

Only two days left in the challenge, but I feel like my perception of living with plastic has fundamentally changed already - a big surprise for me. I find it really frustrating, but also a kind of challenging that motivates me, that we cannot buy nearly anything without incurring plastic. It's sysiphean, but I like impossible challenges! Go...

Oh no! Mr. Competition (me) notes that we have dropped back down to 29th... Check in! Go back to your previous, missed days, and check in there too! Let's go team TLD!

I checked out the options of personal hygiene products at Harvest Health and Clark's Nutrition. Both stores carry organic, plastic free pads and tampons! They also both carry toothpaste and toothpowder in jars; however, the brand at Clark's is about twice as expensive as the one at Harvest Health. Clark's is the only store in the valley that I...

Oh! and I just looked at the team rankings and we have in fact already moved up one, from 29th to 28th! We need to do 700 more than the folks above us to get into 27th! let's try to do our actions, check in, make our pledges, and get into the top 25 before the end of the month - in a few days! Go Team TLD!

Howdy all! Just a reminder to keep checking in every day and doing your pledged activities! Let's do as Joel suggests and try to leap up a few places in the team rankings!

Last night at the grocery store someone commented on all my reusable grocery bags as they were vacationing here and didn't know you had to pay 10 cents each for a bag and loaded all their groceries in their cart separately. I told them that I had been using reusable bags several years prior to it being mandatory.  If they were smart they should...

When I have to use produce bags at the store, I'll take them back and reuse a 2nd or 3rd time.  I then re-purpose (and tie knots in the rips if needed) for wet stinky food scraps at the kitchen sink.  The last thing to go in them before going to trash is cat poo!  :-)

It's clear I'm missing something.  How can I get more points besides checking in everyday?
